Daily life around the Silver Lining (4)

Hi all! This blog is the new edition of the Club- & havenperikelen. From now we will publish this blog in the UK-language to suit all foreign readers.
It looks difficult

Volvo Penta

Last week we made progress to repair our Volvo Penta. We need to remove the exhaust unit, the heat exchanger and the turbo from the cylinder head to replace the gasket. This week we will receive all the new parts we need.

Permateek on deck

Example of Permateek
Last Friday Peter de Graaf of Permateek arrived at the harbour to make a model of our deck. So the upcoming days he can make a new deck of multicolour teak-look deck. Maybe in about 2 weeks he can install the deck on our boat. So the picture is not what we get. We get the new Multicolour Permateek.

Rifkin / Coverysail

Deck tent

On advise of one of our club mates we visit Patrick of Rifkin /Covery sails in the Marina of IJmuiden. He will pay us a visit next week to see our boat and after that he can make a proposal.
April is coming soon!!

Broekhorn Marina

In our new hometown marina we work on several things. As you probably know, the marina is new and opened in second half of 2014. This Wednesday we came together to talk about the job of port master for the next sailing months. Our turn is in June when we are back from our first trip to Belgium and some Dutch cities in the south.

Wadvaren course

A long time ago we did sail in the north of Holland where the Waddenzee is situated. This water is part of the North sea and therefore you will check out the tide, the weather and the seals. In our earlier days we did a course but that was a long time ago. Next week we have our first evening course to renew our knowledge about this kind of sailing.

Upcoming …

The weeks after we will welcome Aquasolar / Lieuwe Dijkstra to install  one or two sun panels to load our batteries.
We will join the second session of the course Wadvaren
On Saturday we will attent to the Linssen Owners Group with a workshop about the weather with Gerrit Hiemstra.
Collect the Volvo Penta parts to finish the engine
